Food at the Black Lion Hotel
The Black Lion is delighted to launch their SUMMER MENU proudly produced by head chef, Murdo Alex MacRitchie created to offer locally sourced produce. Remember if you have something special to celebrate, the popular Georgian Room is a great choice it offers a ‘classic’ style of dining, with crisp linen tablecloths, fine china and silver cutlery. To tempt you ,dishes from the Georgian Room Menu will include To Start: Diver caught scallops or Wild sea trout with ham hock and horseradish, Mains will include: Denham Estate lamb red pepper, smoked aubergine. Or Poached rabbit loin and roasted lobster tail with young carrots and verjus.
Desserts include: English strawberries, black pepper shortcake, basil

A full English Breakfast is served daily from 7.30am – 9.30am (Weekends 8.30am – 10am) and is enjoyed by many customers – even those who live locally.
Lunch is served in the award-winning restaurant daily from midday and dinner from 7pm - click here for menu
Afternoon tea is served from 2pm – 5pm and includes a traditional clotted cream tea – a certain welcome break from sight-seeing and shopping.
A relaxed Sunday at the Black Lion has become a tradition for many customers, enjoying roast Rib of Beef with homemade Yorkshire Pudding and horseradish sauce, with roast potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables.
Booking is advised as it can get busy but we will always do our best to find you a table.
Children are welcome to choose from the adult menu or we offer a special children’s menu also.
